Not Just For Babies

I was at Whole Foods the other day going through my list when I got to the laundry detergent section and they were out of my favorite...Mrs. Meyers Lemon Verbena. I was letting out a big sigh when I noticed a new scent. Ok, so Baby Blossom is meant for...well, babies. Who cares? I gave it a whiff and...oh, my gosh...this is the best smelling detergent! I never thought anything could beat Lemon Verbena, but leave it to Mrs. Meyers to out due themselves with another fabulous fragrance. I can only imagine what their special holiday scent smells like...Gingerbread!

The best part about products by Mrs. Meyers is not only do they leave everything in your house smelling superb, they are good for the environment.

Silicone in the Oven?

Red Velvet cupcakes, homemade oatmeal-chocolate chip cookies...all outcomes of my recent aspiration to bake like Martha. While this journey to Betty Crocker bliss is a good one, I find myself not always knowing what I need. Like, why are my cupcakes so darn small? How does Sprinkles get theirs to be ginormous? I want ginormous cupcakes! Is it possible that there are cupcake pans in small, medium and large?

Well, a co-worker let me in on a little piece of sweet information. In Culver City lies a kitchen supply store that caters to pros and up-and-coming pros like myself. From shaped cookie cutters to silicone this and that, Surfas has just about everything you need for less than what you'll spend at Sur La Table. I haven't actually been yet, but their online store is pretty awesome and I am looking forward to having my list of questions answered. I'll let you know how my shopping experience goes.

If there is one thing were all picky about, it's finding the perfect pair of jeans. Look no further...

Raven Denim's Sierra Trouser combines control (for those of us who need it) with a stretchy softness that makes them feel more like pajamas and less like denim. The back pockets are accented with a small button and are placed on the butt...not 3 inches below like some other brands of jeans (achem...True Religion). My point? They flatter and give a roundness to the tush...what a concept!

Since we're a few years into the sticker shock of what jeans cost, it won't come as a surprise that it'll take about $240 bucks to snag a pair...but they're so worth it.

It's A Small World Afterall

As I mentioned in my last post, I live in a teeny house in West Hollywood, so I am always looking for ways to get organized. Wired did a piece on an East Village store that's taking "tiny" to a while new level.

Created as a response to new york city’s cramped living conditions, Tiny Living is geared to provide solutions for small spaces. They have basics including a tiny iron, tiny juicer, tiny lamp and the most space efficient toilet paper holders I've ever seen. Don't be too weirded out though, you can also pick up some normal size items that are simply better options for a petite living space.

Finally, us urban-ites have a place to shop for out little abodes!

Bowl of Art

I just love this fruit bowl. What a cool idea. I read about it on Apartment Therapy (a Picky-Chick fave) and just can't stop thinking about it. Fruit turned into art! Love that.
